Ghiottini

It was 1953 when Enzo Salaorni invented Ghiottini, his almond cantuccini. He had just opened a brand-new patisserie laboratory in the heart of Florence, when he asked his wife Silveria to taste them.
She must have liked them, as we haven’t stopped making them since then.

Ghiottini have been our flagship product since 1953, when their recipe was first tried out, and since then it has never changed. We still make them in the heart of Chianti, with the same passion, as we are a family-run factory at the third generation.
Ghiottini are made with simple, fresh, quality ingredients, such as fresh milk, barn eggs, honey, butter, only natural aromas, and 100% Italian whole, selected almonds. In our Ghiottini, you will not find any other kind of fats, nor colourings or preservatives.
Thanks to Tuscan tradition, almond cantuccini are one of the sentimental and institutional symbols of our region. For this reason, from this year onwards, we will make our Ghiottini with only 100% Italian almonds, strengthening their relationship with the territory.

Our Ghiottini are packaged immediately, to seal in the fresh-baked goodness, so that you can taste all their delicious aroma and delicate crunch, which have made them famous nationally and internationally.
Our Ghiottini work for every taste, as you can try them on different occasions: traditionally, dipped into dessert wine, or at breakfast with your tea or coffee. Try them also in your dessert and cake recipes.

The cantucci you dunk in your milk,
Save time, being done all at once
Provide a gentleman to drink and to eat
(Giovanni Battista Fagiuoli, Pleasant Rhymes, Florence, 1729-1734)
